Guide for Authors
AUTHORS' GUIDELINES FOR MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION
Authors should submit their manuscripts electronically through the Journal website submission system to the Editorial Office. INJES Website: www.earth.mosuljournals.com/
1: PREPARATION OF MANUSCRIPTS
Manuscripts must be submitted in English or Arabic and should be written according to sound grammar and proper terminology. Manuscripts should be typed in Times New Roman of 12 pt font for English and Simplified Arabic of 12 pt font for Arabic, and in MS-Word format in one column use A4 paper size. No line number should be applied to the manuscript. Manuscript submission must be applied once to obtain only one submission ID number. More than one submission for a single manuscript can lose the chance of manuscript consideration. The manuscript must be formatted on the new journal template, which will be adopted from the issue 1 of volume 22, and the Template can be downloaded from here.
1-1: English Language Writing
All publications in the INJES are in the English or Arabic language. Authors whose first language is not English should make sure their manuscript is written in idiomatic English before submission. Please write your text in good English (American or British usage is accepted, but not a mixture of these). No language and copy-editing services are provided by the INJES; hence, authors who feel their manuscript may require editing to eliminate possible grammatical or spelling errors are encouraged to obtain such services before submission. Authors are responsible for all costs associated with such services. All accepted papers will be subjected to linguistic editing, which will be free of charge.
1-2: New Submissions
Submission to the INJES journal proceeds online and authors will be guided stepwise through the creation and uploading of the manuscript files. As part of the manuscript, authors may choose to submit the manuscript as a single file to be used in the refereeing process. This can be a Word document (*.docx), that can be used by referees to evaluate the manuscript. All figures and tables are encouraged to be embedded and included in the main manuscript file in the result section.
1-3: References
References list must be provided according to the format of the INJES references in a consistent style. Where applicable, author(s) name(s). year of publication. article title. journal abbreviation. volume (issue number): pagination. Doi:
Please note that you can print your references using Mendeley, Endnote, or any other reference format software, or use manual printing using MS Word as these methods are accepted by INJES.
1-4: Formatting requirements
There are no strict formatting requirements but all manuscripts must contain the essential elements needed to convey your manuscript, for example, Abstract, Keywords, Article Highlights, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgement, Conflict of Interest, and References. Please ensure all figures and tables should be embedded and included in the main manuscript file in the results section.
1-5: Revised Submissions
Regardless of the file format of the original submission, at revision, the authors are instructed to submit their manuscript in INJES format in a Word document (*.docx). Keep the layout of the text as simple as possible. To avoid unnecessary errors the authors are strongly advised to use the 'spell-check' and 'grammar-check for the submitted manuscript. At this stage, the author(s) name and affiliation should be inserted.
2: MANUSCRIPT STRUCTURE
Manuscript literature and tenses must be structured as Title; Abstract; Keywords; Article Highlights; Introduction; Materials and Methods; Results and Discussion; Conclusion; Acknowledgements and References submitted in a file with limited size.
2-1: Manuscript Title
The title of fewer than 17 words can contain the name of locations, countries, or cities of the research. Don't use abbreviations in the title, as well as should be defined at first mention and used consistently thereafter throughout the text. Avoid complicated and technical expressions and do not use vague expressions.
2-2: Abstract
An abstract of 150 to 250 words that sketches the purpose of the study; basic procedures; main findings novelty; discussions and the principal conclusions, should not contain any undefined abbreviations or references.
2-3: Keywords
Provide 3 to 5 keywords that can be used for indexing purposes. Keywords should not repeat the words of the manuscript title or contain abbreviations.
2-4: Highlights
Highlights are mandatory for the INJES journal. A highlight is a concise, short phrase, conveying the core findings of your research. The approximate length of a highlighted item will be between 3 to 5 points only.
2-5: Introduction
Describes briefly the background of the investigation with updated information and states the aim of the study.
2-6: Materials and Methods
Provide sufficient details to enable the fieldwork, laboratory tests, experiments, and deskwork to be reproduced. Metric and standard international units should be used in this section and throughout the manuscript. Specify the computer software used for mathematical and statistical analysis and define the terms, abbreviations, and symbols applied. In a case that the manuscript contains analyses using devices or instruments, the author must write down the type of device, the laboratory location, and the date of the analysis, with an official endorsement by the department or authority in which the experiments were completed.
2-7: Results
Present the results and their significance. Graphs and tables should be self-explanatory. Do not repeat in figures or in the text the data presented in tables. Tables and figures should be numbered in the order of their mention in the text.
2-8: Discussion
Deals with critical review and interpretations of the results, and is supported by relevant updated references. Repetition of data should be avoided. It should end with brief conclusions. In Short Communications, Results and Discussion may be combined.
2-9: Conclusion
This section should highlight the major, firm discoveries, and state what the added value of the main finding is, without literature references.
2-10: Acknowledgements
Acknowledgments of people, grants, funds, etc. should be placed in a separate section before the reference list. The names of funding organizations should be written in full. Financial support affiliation of the study, if exists, must be mentioned in this section. Thereby, the Grant number of financial support must be included.
2-11: Conflict of Interest
A conflict of interest statement must be placed in the manuscript as below: "The authors declare that there are no conflicts of interest regarding the publication of this manuscript".
2-12: References

Personal communications or unpublished data should be mentioned in the text, but not included in the list of references. In the manuscript English text, the reference is indicated in the text by writing the Author's last name and the year. Also, if two authors, their names must be written with the year. However, if they are three or more, the name of the first author is mentioned with the suffix (et al.,) and the year. While in a manuscript written in Arabic the name of the first author and others are mentioned with the year if they are three or more. The references in the list are arranged according to the alphabetical letters of the last name or surnames of authors that are recorded with the first letter of personal names or full personal names of the Arabic references, without numbering the references and the years are not placed in parentheses, as follows:
